Welcome to Plaza Towers Memorial

Welcome to Plaza Towers Memorial

On May 20, 2013 an EF5 tornado tore through the community of Moore, Oklahoma;  taking with it homes, businesses and the lives of twenty four people, including seven children from Plaza Towers Elementary School.

One year later, an appropriate and timeless memorial is being constructed in conjunction with the rebuild of Plaza Towers Elementary School.  The memorial will honor the seven children who died and pay tribute to the heroic actions of teachers, administrators, family members, emergency responders and volunteers from the Moore community.

Located at the new Plaza Towers Elementary School (on the same site as the previous school), the memorial will be dedicated in August to coincide with the new school year.  It will serve as a reminder of what was lost on May 20th, but also as a beacon of hope for the many kids who will attend Plaza Towers now and in the future…that Oklahoman’s are resilient and persevere in the face of adversity.  While the seven children will never be forgotten, their memorial will welcome students into a bright future every time they enter school.
